Recent Advances on the Theory and Applications of Networked Control Systems
Description
With the rapid developments of the communication technology and embedded computing devices in recent decades, engineering systems can now be deployed at a much larger scale with more flexible structure at lower cost. This convergence of control, communication, and computation enables the next era of the information technology, often characterized by “ubiquitous networks, ubiquitous control.” This future will transform the way we live and work, which, however, at the same time brings many challenges both in theory and applications.
This special issue will mainly focus on one specific area in such a great transformation, that is, the practical and theoretical challenges in networked control systems. However, all related perspectives are warmly welcomed, from any of the related disciplines such as control, communication, computation, and possibly others. Of particular interests are those interdisciplinary studies, which integrate two or more of the above disciplines. Potential topics include, but are not limited to:
- Networked control systems in every possible form and their recent theoretical advances
- Multiagent systems in the presence of communication networks
- Scheduling algorithms and their applications to networked control systems
- Theories and applications in Internet of things and cyberphysical systems
- Applications of networked control systems, such as smart home, smart transportation, remote surgery, and so forth
Before submission authors should carefully read over the journal’s Authors Guidelines, which are located at http://www.hindawi.com/journals/mpe/guidelines/. Prospective authors should submit an electronic copy of their complete manuscript through the journal Manuscript Tracking System at http://mts.hindawi.com/submit/journals/mpe/ratn/ according to the following timetable:
