End-of-life Vehicle Recycling Management: Initiatives, Models and Industrial Applications
Description
With the increasing development of the automobile industry driven by advanced manufacturing techniques, car ownership has increased significantly, leading to the booming development of the end-of-life vehicle (ELV) industry. The status quo of severe energy overconsumption and demand of environment-friendly economies motivates the automobile industry to perform ELV recycling business, including reuse, recovery, and recycling operations for ELVs. Besides, academic studies have been conducted regarding end-of-life products management practices under the philosophy of circular economy and sustainability requirements.
However, the ELV recycling industry in developing areas is still in infancy due to the lack of ELV recycling management theories and practices. Besides, the data-driven decision-making and sustainable operation management for ELV recycling under digitization-based industrial scenarios have also attracted the wide attention of academic scholars and industrial practitioners. To improve the ELV recycling capability, innovative initiatives, theoretical models, and industrial applications are encouraged to promote the development of ELV recycling industry.
The Special Issue aims at compiling original research and reviews that address the advancements in this field that would introduce a new wave of transformation in the ELV recycling industry. We invite papers of academic and practical significance that can provide novel contributions towards addressing the problems related to various stages of ELV recycling management.
Potential topics include but are not limited to the following:
- Sustainability achievement by ELV recycling: meaning, motivations, and drivers
- OR Techniques in sustainable ELV recycling supply chain practices
- ELV recycling network design and optimization
- Cost-benefit analysis of ELV recycling
- 4R (Reuse, Recovery, Re-manufacturing, Recycling) technology and roadmap
- Interactive promotion between ELV recycling and other industrial sectors
- Drivers and Barriers for ELV recycling practice
- Dismantling techniques and disassembly scheduling for ELV recycling plant
- ELV recycling logistics management
- Pricing of ELV recycling
- Game models for ELV recycling participants
- Regulations and policy making for ELV recycling promotion
- Industrial applications in recycling and remanufacturing industry
- Corporate social responsibility
- Sustainable supply chain management and industrial practices
