Recent Advances in Synchronization and Control of Chaotic Systems and their Engineering Applications

Call for Papers

Over the last 40 years, chaos theory has infiltrated almost all scientific disciplines and has found applications in multiple areas. Chaotic systems, due to their intricate structure and high complexity and sensitivity to initial conditions, provide a rigorous field of study and a means of adding complexity and security to a control design.

A trending application of chaotic systems is synchronization. The problem appears when two or more systems are coupled. Synchronization is a very difficult problem and has been a subject of continuing research, due to its many applications, including secure communications, encryption, lasers, robotics, and many other areas of engineering.

The aim of this special issue is to explore recent trends and developments in the synchronization and control of chaotic systems and their applications. Contributions can address all types of chaotic systems, different synchronization methods, and their practical applications in any scientific area related to engineering. Review articles focused on a specific system type or specific synchronization methods are also welcome.

Potential topics include but are not limited to the following:

  • Different chaos synchronization and antisynchronization techniques
  • Continuous and discrete time chaotic systems
  • Fractional order chaotic systems
  • Chaotic systems with hidden attractors
  • Memristor-based systems
  • Chaotic secure communication schemes
  • Chaotic encryption schemes
  • Bifurcation analysis
  • Applications of chaos synchronization in all areas of engineering, robotics, physics, and economics
