Computational Methods in Design and Manufacturing Processes

Call for Papers

In the recent years, “Computational Methods” have been an extremely active research issue. Additionally, there is a growing industrial use of computational methods in design and manufacturing processes. Across all fields of industry, computational methods are used as a valuable tool for solving more and more complex design and manufacturing problems.

This special issue is aimed to compile papers summarizing the state of the art concerning the computational methods such as modeling, simulation, optimization, and CAD/CAM with emphasis on the design and manufacturing processes. The profound insights into this knowledge are extremely important for providing valuable information and will also provide directions for future research.

We encourage and invite researchers in industry and academia to contribute original research articles within the scope of this issue.

Potential topics include but are not limited to the following:

  • Modeling of manufacturing processes
  • Modeling of micro- and nanomanufacturing
  • Modeling of additive manufacturing processes
  • Integrated computational material engineering
  • Numerical simulation of manufacturing processes
  • Constitutive models for manufacturing processes of engineering materials
  • Finite element analysis
  • Neural networks/artificial intelligence relatedto design and manufacturing processes
  • Computational optimization of manufacturing processes
  • Numerical analysis of manufacturing processes
