Modelling and Simulation in Mining

Call for Papers

Modelling and simulation are powerful tools for designing and evaluating engineering systems to solve numerous practical problems of a variety of engineering disciplines. The recent advances in computer software and hardware technologies have made it much easier and more affordable to adopt and use these tools. The objective of this special issue is to present an insight into new developments in both theoretical background and practical applications related to modelling and simulation basically in mining. Authors are encouraged to present their work especially in the area of providing practical solutions to mining engineering problems.

Potential topics include but are not limited to the following:

  • Mathematical modelling and simulation in mining
  • Orebody modelling
  • Geostatistical analysis in mining
  • Resource estimation and reserve calculation in mining
  • Open pit optimization
  • Mine planning
  • Production scheduling
  • Numerical modelling in rock/soil engineering
  • Open pit mining
  • Underground mining
  • Underground and surface excavations
  • Mine ventilation
  • Mine monitoring
  • Mineral processing
  • Crushing and grinding technologies
  • Mine valuation
  • Equipment and fleet management
  • Technological training methods in mining
  • Virtual and augmented reality applications in mining

Authors can submit their manuscripts through the Manuscript Tracking System at
