Blockade of DAG metabolites does not inhibit astrocytic ATP release. Inhibition of DAG kinase with 10 μM R59945 causes an increase in astrocytic calcium oscillations in response to 30 μM OAG (control 𝑛=13,𝑅5𝑛=5;𝑃=0.016). Inhibition of DAG lipase with 50 μM RHC80267 had no effect on astrocyte ATP release (control 𝑛=6, RHC =9;𝑃=0.3).
