Knockdown of PKCα inhibits estrogen-stimulated growth of Ishikawa cells. Cells were stably transfected with shRNAs targeting PKCα or luciferase. Control (luc) or PKCα knockdown cell lines were treated with ±100 nM estrogen (E2) and harvested at the indicated time points. Cell number and viability were determined using a Beckmann Coulter Vi-CELL analyzer. Results are expressed as the fold increase in cell number induced by estrogen treatment.
