Protective Role of Malvidin-3-Glucoside on Peroxynitrite-Induced Damage in Endothelial Cells by Counteracting Reactive Species Formation and Apoptotic Mitochondrial Pathway

Mv3glc, at low concentrations, efficiently inhibit peroxynitrite-induced dihydrorhodamine 123 oxidation. Briefly, 25  M DHR 123 was incubated with either Mv3glc or quercetin (Qt), used as a reference compound, at 37°C, and after addition of 1.2  M peroxynitrite the fluorescence was immediately assessed, as described in Section 2. The measured fluorescence intensities were expressed in percentage relative to control (DHR123 plus ONOO without Mv3glc or quercetin). Values are results of five independent experiments.   for all concentrations of Mv3glc or of quercetin versus control.
