Mv3glc, at low concentrations, efficiently inhibit peroxynitrite-induced dihydrorhodamine 123 oxidation. Briefly, 25 M DHR 123 was incubated with either Mv3glc or quercetin (Qt), used as a reference compound, at 37°C, and after addition of 1.2 M peroxynitrite the fluorescence was immediately assessed, as described in Section 2. The measured fluorescence intensities were expressed in percentage relative to control (DHR123 plus ONOO− without Mv3glc or quercetin). Values are results of five independent experiments. for all concentrations of Mv3glc or of quercetin versus control.
