Changes in VEGF protein expression in RPE-choroid homogenates, reported as percentage increase with respect to untreated wt mice. Augmented VEGF protein in apoE−/−, assessed by western blot (densitometric analysis and representative blot showing the 25 kDa VEGF monomer), is reduced in apoE−/− MV-50. β-actin was used as load control.
