Red Chicory (Cichorium intybus L. cultivar) as a Potential Source of Antioxidant Anthocyanins for Intestinal Health

Effects of WL and RL extracts of Treviso red chicory on cell proliferation of undifferentiated Caco-2 cells. The cell proliferation was determined by the MTT assay after 96 h of incubation with various concentrations of extracts. The results were expressed as a percentage of control cells. The values represent the mean ± SD of three independent experiments ( versus cells treated with WL extracts at Student’s t-test).
