BL153 prevented HFD-induced cardiac apoptosis via activation of the mitochondrial cell death pathway. The expression of C-caspase-8 (cleaved-caspase-8), Bax, Bcl-2, and AIF in the heart was detected by Western blot assay and quantified by densitometric analysis.
