Naphthoquinone Derivative PPE8 Induces Endoplasmic Reticulum Stress in p53 Null H1299 Cells

H1299 cells were incubated without or with 5 μM ALLN, 10 μM calpeptin, or 10 μM calpain inhibitor in combination with 5 μM PPE8 for 24 h; the cell viability was examined by MTS assay and expressed relative to viability of cells without PPE8 treatment (100% control value). Similar results were obtained in three independent experiments. Results were expressed as the mean ± SD.
