Acute Exercise-Induced Mitochondrial Stress Triggers an Inflammatory Response in the Myocardium via NLRP3 Inflammasome Activation with Mitophagy

To investigate the mitochondrial stress response in the myocardium, mitochondrial membrane potential and ATP synthase activity were determined. Compared with that of the RC group, mitochondrial membrane potential and ATP synthase activity were both increased during the early stages of acute exercise and/or its recovery ((a) and (b)).
