TP protected against glutamate (Glu) induced neurotoxicity in the primary cultured cortical neurons. (a) Glutamate reduced the cell viability at a dose dependent manner in the primary cultured cortical neurons as tested by MTT assay. (b) The glutamate induced reduction of cell viability was partially rescued by 1 μM or 10 μM TP in the neurons, while TP alone had no effect on the cell viability of the neurons. Glu: glutamate.
