The natural history of a tumor from initial cell transformation to progression occurs and develops in a ROS-rich milieu which deeply influences, reinforces, and amplifies the different steps of the progression, the role of various molecular players, especially DNA repairing mechanisms, HIF, NFκB, and Sirtuins, and the full acquisition of all hallmarks of malignant phenotype.
