Evaluation of Anti-Inflammatory Properties of Isoorientin Isolated from Tubers of Pueraria tuberosa

Figure 4

Effect of isoorientin on carrageenan induced paw edema in BALB/c mice. Animals were injected with isoorientin (10 and 20 mg/Kg body weight), celecoxib (20 mg/Kg body weight), or an equal volume of the vehicle (50 μL, 0.2% DMSO) intraperitoneally. One hour later, paw inflammation was induced by injecting 25 μL of 1% solution of carrageenan in 0.9% saline subcutaneously into the plantar region of the left hind paw. (a) The thickness of the paw was measured in the dorsal plantar axis at the metatarsal level by digital calliper at the indicated times after carrageenan injection. (b) The thickness of the paw edema at 3 hour after induction was shown. All data are expressed from as mean ± SD. ; compared with the control.
