NLRP3 Inflammasome Activation-Mediated Pyroptosis Aggravates Myocardial Ischemia/Reperfusion Injury in Diabetic Rats

<div>The inflammasome inhibitor reduced the myocardial infarct size and decreased activation of the NLRP3 inflammasome, IL-1<i>β</i>, and caspase-1 (p10) in nondiabetic and diabetic rats after MI/R. The infarct size was detected by TTC staining (a). The CK-MB activities were determined by enzyme activity assay kits (b). The expression of NLRP3 (c), ASC (d), procaspase-1 and caspase-1 (e), and IL-1<i>β</i> (f) was analyzed by Western blot as shown.
