Schematic representation of MR structure: the MR is constituted of three domains: an amino-terminus domain (NTD), which contains a NH2-terminal ligand-independent transcriptional activation (AF-1) and contributes to transactivation of other receptors; a central cysteine-rich DNA-binding domain (DBD), which contains two zinc fingers (ZFs); and a carboxy-terminal- (CT-) ligand-binding domain (CT-LBD) which contains an activation function 2 domain (AF-2), which is crucial for ligand and coregulator binding.
