Oxidative stress parameters (thiol groups and lipid dienes) in skeletal muscle homogenates and crude mitochondria, and catalase activity in skeletal muscle of the ALS and WT mice. Thiol groups were measured in skeletal muscle homogenates (a). Lipid dienes were assessed in skeletal muscle homogenates (b) and the crude mitochondrial fraction (c). Catalase (CAT) activity was measured in skeletal muscle homogenates (d). There were significant differences between the groups: versus ALS 0 or WT 0, respectively, versus ALS TER, versus ALS TER (LSD post hoc test); , between the indicated ALS and corresponding WT groups. The data are presented as the means ± SEM ( in each group).
