Culturing beta cells under glucolipotoxic conditions decreases the intracellular level of oxidation. Mouse islet cells were incubated in medium supplemented with 100 μmol/L palmitate and 25 mmol/L glucose vs. standard condition (10 mmol/L glucose) for different time periods up to 48 h.
