Artemisinin Inhibits the Migration and Invasion in Uveal Melanoma via Inhibition of the PI3K/AKT/mTOR Signaling Pathway

Treatment of cells with an AKT activator (Sc79) attenuated the inhibitory effect of artemisinin on cell migration and invasion. The cells were pretreated with Sc79 followed by incubation with different concentrations of artemisinin. (a, b) Treatment with Sc79 prevented the decrease of the wound closure area promoted by artemisinin. (c, d) Sc79 increased the number of artemisinin-treated invasive cells. All the results represent the of three independent experiments versus the control group. , , and were considered statistically significant.
