Understanding and Improving ¹⁸F-Fluciclovine PET/CT Reports: A Guide for Physicians Treating Patients with Biochemical Recurrence of Prostate Cancer

Image of a 72-year-old male who had undergone Calypso-guided intensity-modulated radiotherapy and cyberknife treatment of a right-sided iliac lymph node (identified on a prior ¹⁸F-fluciclovine study). He was referred for ¹⁸F-fluciclovine imaging with PSA rising to 15.1 ng/mL. This axial, fused PET/CT image shows intense ¹⁸F-fluciclovine uptake in the left side of the prostate gland (white arrow), consistent with prostate cancer recurrence.
