Relative protein expression of total Akt and phospho-Akt in nondifferentiated and differentiated SH-SY5Y cells by Western blot. For neuronal differentiation, SH-SY5Y cells were treated with 10 μM retinoic acid for three days before exposure to MPP⁺. The control groups for nondifferentiated and differentiated SH-SY5Y cells were treated with the same medium without MPP⁺. (b) and (c) represent the quantification of the band density of total Akt and phospho-Akt, respectively. The band density was normalized to actin and relative to a nondifferentiated control.
