iNOS Inhibition Reduces Lung Mechanical Alterations and Remodeling Induced by Particulate Matter in Mice

ROFA-induced extracellular matrix remodeling: after both five (ROFA-5d) and fifteen instillations (ROFA-15d), mice presented an increase in the number of neutrophils and inflammatory cells that express nNOS and iNOS around airways and in distal lung parenchyma. The macrophages were significantly increased only in ROFA-15d groups compared to saline. P<0.05 compared to saline; P<0.05 compared to ROFA-5d.
