PTEN protein signaling pathways. PTENā€™s lipid phosphatase activity dephosphorylates PIP3 to PIP2 inhibiting PDK1-mediated Akt phosphorylation and downregulating Akt-mediated cell survival. PTENā€™s protein phosphatase activity inhibits the phosphorylation of FAK to prevent cell migration. PTENā€™s protein phosphatase activity also dephosphorylates the SHC/SOS/GRB2 complex resulting in the decreased phosphorylation of MAPK and inhibition of the cell cycle.
