Anisomycin increases caspase activity in IMCD-K2 cells, independent of GW501516. Serum-starved cells were treated with serum-free media (control) for 24 hours, 250 ng/mL anisomycin (A250) for 24 hours, 10⁻⁶ M GW501516, and 10⁻⁸ M GW501516 for 24 hours pretreatment followed by 10⁻⁶ M and 10⁻⁸ M GW501516 for 24 hours with (GW-6/A250 and GW-8/A250) or without anisomycin (GW-6 and GW-8), Z-VAD-FMK, a pan-caspase inhibitor with (Z/A250) or without (Z) anisomycin.
