Metastatic carcinoma (asterisk) was arranged in nests with enlarged vesicular nuclei with inconspicuous nucleoli infiltrating the follicular adenoma (200x; H & E) (c). The metastatic carcinoma was negative for thyroglobulin, while the adenoma was strongly positive (100x; IHC) (d).
