Efficient Non-Viral Integration and Stable Gene Expression in Multipotent Adult Progenitor Cells

Hotspots for C31-mediated integration in the genome of rat MAPC. Nine drug-resistant clones and an additional three clones picked on the basis of GFP expression were analyzed for integrant number and genomic location. Of all the integration sites identified, the location on chromosome 17 (17q12.1) was found to be targeted with highest frequency (7 out of 12 clones) followed by chromosome locations 9q22 (5 out of 12 clones) and Xq35 (4 out of 12 clones). Exact genomic location of the integrant and the nearest gene to the site of integration is listed for each chromosome hotspot.
