Human DNA accounted for engraftment. hMSCs implanted in mouse tissues were detected by PCR of the gene for human -globin. The rate of implantation of human cells was determined on a series of non-irradiated mice grafted with hMSC injection at 5·106 cells per mouse. The percentages represent the ratio of positive mice for the presence of human -globin on the total number of mice analyzed.
