Wnt5a Increases Properties of Lung Cancer Stem Cells and Resistance to Cisplatin through Activation of Wnt5a/PKC Signaling Pathway

Figure 2

Wnt5a promotes cell migration in lung cancer cells in vitro. A549 and A549/DDP cells were cultured in Wnt5a-CM with or without PKC inhibitor GF109203X. The capability of cell migration was accessed in terms of a scratch assay. (a) Representative images of scratch assays for A549 cells (left panel) and its relevant quantification of the results of cell migration index (right panel). (b) Representative images of scratch assays for A549/DDP cells (left panel) and its relevant quantification of the results of cell migration index (right panel). (c) Representative images of scratch assays for A549/DDP cells in the presence of cisplatin (left panel) and its relevant quantification of the results of cell migration index (right panel). Wnt5a showed an ability to enhance cell migration in both A549 cells and A549/DDP cells. In contrast, GF109203X was able to inhibit the Wnt5a-promoted migration in these cells. Compared with Control-CM group, represents . Data represented the mean ± SD from three independent triplicated experiments (). GF: GF109203X.
