Wnt5a Increases Properties of Lung Cancer Stem Cells and Resistance to Cisplatin through Activation of Wnt5a/PKC Signaling Pathway

Figure 3

Wnt5a promotes cell invasion in lung cancer cells in vitro. A549 and A549/DDP cells were cultured with Wnt5a-CM with or without PKC inhibitor GF109203X in matrigel-coated transwells. The capability of cell invasion was accessed by a transwell assay. (a) Representative images of transwell assays for A549 cells (left panel) and its relevant quantification of the numbers of invasive cells (right panel). (b) Representative images of scratch assays for A549/DDP cells (left panel) and its relevant quantification of the numbers of invasive cells (right panel). Wnt5a showed an ability to significantly enhance cell invasion in both A549 and A549/DDP cells. In contrast, GF109203X was able to inhibit the Wnt5a-promoted invasion in these cells. Compared with Control-CM group, represents ; : . Data represented the mean ± SD from three independent triplicated experiments (). GF: GF109203X.
