Cultured urine cells express renal epithelial and epithelial markers. The culture urine cells express renal epithelial cell markers NR3C2, L1CAM, and SLC2A1 at high level. Epithelial cell markers Occludin, Claudin 1, and E-cadherin were also expressed in those cells. The fibroblast marker Twist 1 was expressed at a very low level. .
