Surgical Injury and Ischemia Prime the Adipose Stromal Vascular Fraction and Increase Angiogenic Capacity in a Mouse Limb Ischemia Model

Protein synthesis of VEGF-A was induced by a combination of surgical injury and ischemia in SVFs. 20 μg (left) or 40 μg (right) of whole-cell protein lysate was loaded per lane. Western blotting against VEGF-A or GAPDH was performed. GAPDH served as an internal control. Note that the basal level of VEGF-A synthesis was negligible on day 0 of the priming and the peak of the induction was on 5 days after priming procedure.
