A cascade of transcription factors that regulate adipogenesis. PPARγ is one of the key transcription factors in adipogenesis and the core of the transcriptional cascade that regulates adipogenesis. PPARγ expression is regulated by several proadipogenic (blue) and antiadipogenic (red) factors. C/EBPα is regulated through a series of inhibitory protein–protein interactions. Some transcription factor families include several members that participate in adipogenesis, such as the KLFs.
