Security and Privacy in Cloud-Assisted Big Data Processing

Call for Papers

Big data has attracted an increasing amount of attentions as the wireless technologies such as smartphones, smart sensors, and 5G and Internet of Things (IoT) are developing with an unprecedented speed. It has brought us an opportunity to study the hidden values and relationships of wireless things, by utilizing the techniques of machine learning, data mining, and analyzing.

Owing to the locally constrained resources, both data storage and computation have to be delegated to the powerful but always untrusted cloud, which has led to a series of challenging security and privacy threats. An important issue arises, that is, how to efficiently execute big data processing in the encrypted domain as is performed on the plaintext.

We organize this special issue to unveil and address the security and privacy aspects associated to big data processing, especially for ciphertext access control and secure outsourced computation. This special issue encourages novel, transformative, and multidisciplinary solutions that ensure the security of emerging cloud-assisted big data processing systems by addressing unique challenges in this area.

Potential topics include but are not limited to the following:
