Phytochemical Analysis, Antioxidant, Antistress, and Nootropic Activities of Aqueous and Methanolic Seed Extracts of Ladies Finger (Abelmoschus esculentus L.) in Mice

Effect of aqueous and methanolic seed extracts of Abelmoschus esculentus on the duration of immobility in the forced swimming test in mice. The Imp, AE, and ME groups were daily treated with imipramine (12 mg/kg, i.p.), aqueous, and methanolic seed extracts (200 mg/kg, p.o.), respectively, for 7 days once daily and then stress was induced after 30 min of last dose. The values shown are the mean ± S.E.M ; when compared to control group, and when compared to stressed group.
