In contrast to the darker, more sharply defined nuclear staining, a diffuse pattern of staining was identified in the cytoplasm of tumor cells. Larger and more irregular tumor cell nuclei had deeply invaginated surfaces (frozen section, immunoperoxidase with mAb DO-7, nuclear counterstain with haematoxylin, ×320).
