The IgE, ECP, and serum cytokine levels for MPP patients with allergic conditions, with or without secondary asthma. Levels of IgE, ECP, IL-4, and INF-γ were measured for MPP patients with allergic conditions who developed secondary asthma ( = 12) or did not develop secondary asthma ( = 390). The results for = 50 control subjects without pneumonia are shown for comparison. Results represent the mean ± standard deviation. < 0.01 for secondary asthma versus no secondary asthma.
