Electrification and Renewable Energy Generation

Description

With increasing worldwide concerns on energy crisis and global warming, the topics on both electrification and renewable energy generation have become very attractive most recently. In our opinion, electrification means energy efficiency and energy saving, while renewable energy generation means clean electrical energy. Consequently, electrification plus renewable energy generation points a promising way to the sustainable development of human beings. Nevertheless, we are still facing critical challenges in many aspects, such as how to harvest and utilize renewable energy in a high-efficient and low-cost way and how to process and convert electrical energy so as to better fulfill the demands in practical applications. The main objective of this special issue is to bring together researchers pursuing on these fields, and present their most recent working progress. Potential topics include, but are not limited to:

  • Novel wind/wave/tidal power generators
  • High efficient converters for wind/wave/tidal power generation
  • Energy conversion control schemes for renewable energy systems ( wind, tidal, wave, and solar systems)
  • Smart microgrid, its topology, modeling, and management
  • Distributed energy storage system
  • Electric drivelines for electric vehicles/vessels
  • Power electronics in electric vehicles/vessels
  • High-efficient electric drive control
  • Fault-tolerant electric drive control

Before submission authors should carefully read over the journal’s Author Guidelines, which are located at http://www.hindawi.com/journals/tswj/guidelines/.
