Energy Economics and Policy
Description
New concerns have arisen worldwide regarding how to manage the energy resources and its development, such as to control the environmental impact of energy use, to regulate and expedite the commercialization of renewable energy, and to reevaluate the safety issue of nuclear power. Along with rapid increase in energy price and inevitable change in energy structures, theoretical and empirical studies on energy economics and relevant policies are of emergent need to assess the performance of previous efforts as well as to guide the direction of future development. Especially, investigation of characters of energy market and governments' roles in it is of significant implication to decision makers concerning different aspects of energy management.
We invite investigators to contribute original research articles as well as review articles that can advance our understanding of the principles of energy economics and improve the effectiveness of energy policy. Potential topics include, but are not limited to:
- Analysis of demand and supply of energy
- Environmental impact of energy use and its control
- Design and optimization of energy policies
- Energy securities of individual nations and the whole world
- Driving forces and obstacles of renewable energy development
- Cost-benefit performance of existing energy policies
- Energy system analysis
- Potential capacity of new energy development
- Evaluation of the safety of nuclear power usage
- Embodied energy analysis
- Energy policy in different countries
