Conventional training framework. The DL and UL channel estimation problems are solved independently. The BS first transmits pilot sequences. Then, the DL channel is estimated at the MS side. The estimated DL channel is fed back to the BS via dedicated uplink resources. The UL channel is estimated at the BS side.
