CloudIoT: Convergence Services between the Cloud and IoT

Call for Papers

Cloud computing and Internet of Things (IoT) are two very different technologies that are both already part of our life. Their adoption and use are expected to be more and more pervasive, making them important components of the Future Internet. A novel paradigm where Cloud and IoT are merged together is foreseen as disruptive and as an enabler of a large number of application scenarios. Current cloud-based Internet-of-Things (IoT) paradigm enables the smart devices to exchange information to cooperate and provide services to end users. Generally, this paradigm provides a uniform and scalable solution for IoT applications.

The collaboration of IoT and cloud technologies will hopefully increase our quality of life globally through digital sophistication and is widely applicable to a range of industries, for example, health-care systems, atmosphere monitoring, agriculture, home/office automation, transportation, infrastructure, industry, social networks, entertainment, and security systems.

We invite investigators to contribute original research articles as well as review articles that will stimulate continuing efforts from researchers in both the academia and industry sector to present novel application scenarios, new algorithms, and applications on cloud computing for innovative services and new paradigm.

Potential topics include but are not limited to the following:

  • IoT business models for cloud computing applications
  • IoT-enabled cloud or mobile computing
  • IoT platform-as-a-service, application-as-a-service, and solution-as-a-service
  • Industrial and cognitive IoT technologies
  • QoS for cloud computing and IoT services
  • Security and privacy for cloud and IoT applications
  • Interactions between the cloud and IoT
  • Cloud based IoT architectures, protocols, algorithms, data processing, and communication
  • Performance, availability, and scalability of cloud services
  • Design and integration of IoT-cloud systems
  • IoT-cloud resource optimization
