We are hiring: Brand and Content Marketing Manager

We are looking for a Brand and Content Marketing Manager to join our team based in London.


Reporting to the Head of Brand and Content Marketing, the Brand and Content Marketing Manager has the overall responsibility for managing the development and deployment of marketing activity related to Brand (at a company, journal and customer level). Working in close partnership with the wider Journal Development group and across the company as a whole (as required), the role holder will be responsible for implementing the strategic vision for Hindawi’s brand, as well as achieving annual marketing objectives and KPIs through the implementation of integrated, multi-channel campaigns (across email, search, social, recommendation engines, print, etc.)

Brand and content and activity

  • Create and carry out marketing campaigns and activity to drive new users and enhance reputation of Hindawi and its journals.
  • Where necessary, implement different brand marketing approaches for different geographical regions to ensure the best outcomes possible. 
  • Responsible for content creation, scheduling and publication on the Hindawi blog.
  • Collaborate with the Research Engagement teams on product positioning and campaign requirements.
  • Work with the Email/CRM Manager and Paid Media Manager to set up and maintain a program of relevant multi-channel marketing campaigns to drive awareness and engagement.
  • Work with the other Marketing Managers to ensure consistent messaging and visual style of all activity.
  • Where required, ensure that marketing insights, customer needs and brand requirements/elements are clearly represented at the creation and development planning stages of relevant new products.
  • Own management of social media channels including content population.

Design and communication

  • Work hand-in-hand with the Visual Design team to create and implement consistent and impactful visual identities for all outputs from across the organization.
  • Ensure implementation of all branding and style guides including tone of voice, visual representations and similar.
  • Lead on supporting company staff in ensuring high quality in external visual and content outputs (presentations, blogs, videos, press releases etc.).
  • Work with company staff and external associates to produce series of webinars, podcasts, videos and similar to support journal and company brand goals.

Reporting and market understanding

  • Ensure consistent and useful measuring and reporting of all marketing activity (working closely with the Data & Operations team).
  • Work with the Head of Brand and Content Marketing and the Senior Data Analyst to develop a strong understanding of our audiences to help us best serve them.
  • Monitor competitor activity to feed into overall market intelligence.

Skills & experience

  • A strong work ethic with the ability to handle multiple priorities and respond quickly to changing requirements. 
  • Ability to keep key objectives and targets in mind when developing strategies, plans and activities.
  • International marketing experience is essential for this role and solid evidence and experience of multi-channel and integrated marketing skills is required. 
  • Extensive understanding of brand, brand development, brand positioning and the route through which to enhance and develop brands and brand activity. 
  • Experience producing content (blogs, webinars) and managing social media channels including social media calendars and scheduling. 
  • An understanding of Open Science and wider publishing and research landscape, and the elements and actors within it, is also desirable.
  • An eminently reliable team player that responds well to a varied workload and plays a pivotal role in engaging our customers and developing the reputation and image of our journal products and the company at large.
