Novel Developments in Acute Kidney Injury
Description
Acute kidney injury (AKI) develops routinely among hospitalized patients, perioperatively, as well as in the community. Although recent clinical trials have made great strides towards understanding the pathophysiology of acute kidney injury and therapeutic agents, effective prevention and treatment of acute kidney injury remain uncertain at the front lines of healthcare.
We invite investigators to contribute original research articles as well as review articles that will stimulate the continuing efforts to understand the pathophysiology, early detection, treatment, and prevention of acute kidney injury. We are particularly interested in novel meta-analyses of acute kidney injury treatment, prevention, and detection; advances in novel acute kidney injury pathophysiology; and new insights into acute kidney injury and clinical outcomes.
Potential topics include but are not limited to the following:
- Meta-analyses
- Advances in early detection and biomarkers
- Latest technologies for prevention and treatment
- Clinical evaluation of modifiable risk factors and devices to prevent or minimize acute kidney injury
- Epidemiological studies
- Community-acquired acute kidney injury
- Recent advances in acute kidney injury prevention
