Antenna Measurement Systems and Antenna Technology for Next Wireless Generation

Description

Technologies introduced in next Wireless generation, such as spatial multiplexing, transmit and receive diversities, and beamforming are key components for providing higher peak rate and better system efficiency, which are essential for supporting future broadband data service over wireless links. Moreover, the multiple-input and multiple-output (MIMO) has been a hot research topic in recent years, as it has been widely adopted by wireless standards such as LTE, HSPA, and WiMAX. New test systems and antenna solutions have been proposed in order to achieve and validate the demanding features of the next-generation systems. Major challenges remain in the field of measuring systems as well as in the design of new antennas for MIMO systems. In addition, it is also necessary to pay attention to channel modeling for these systems.

We invite researchers from both academics and industry to contribute on innovative research and future trends of this scientific area. The papers should promote the exchange of information and the advancement both in measurement techniques as in terminal performance predictions for the next generation of wireless handsets. Moreover, the papers should include ideas and solutions in all the involved areas. Prospective authors are invited to submit their original research or review papers. Potential topics include, but are not limited to:

  • Measurement techniques for next wireless generation
  • Antenna designs and solutions for next wireless generation
  • Advances in transmit and receive diversities techniques
  • Advances in beamforming techniques and direction of arrival detection
  • Advances in antenna performance measurement techniques
  • Antenna systems and channel modeling for Wi-Fi, WiMAX, and LTE
  • MIMO over-the-air (OTA) measurements and simulations
  • MIMO OTA test (anechoic chamber and reverberation chamber)

Before submission authors should carefully read over the journal's Author Guidelines, which are located at http://www.hindawi.com/journals/ijap/guidelines/. Prospective authors should submit an electronic copy of their complete manuscript through the journal Manuscript Tracking System at http://mts.hindawi.com/submit/journals/ijap/next/ according to the following timetable:
