Millimetre-Wave Antennas and Systems for the Future 5G
Description
5G is the next technological marvel enabling ubiquitous portable systems for the realization of Internet of Things (IoT). Millimeter-wave frequency range is a prestandardization favorite for the portable 5G applications. High performing millimeter-wave devices require efficient low profile antennas to ensure reliable and interference-free communications. Requirements for increased power, larger bandwidth, higher gain, and insensitivity to the human user presence further complicate the antenna and propagation aspects. It solicits novel ideas and innovative solutions for the antenna design.
We invite researchers to contribute original research articles as well as review articles that seek addressing the issues of antenna design and propagation for portable 5G enabled millimeter-wave applications.
Potential topics include but are not limited to the following:
- Millimeter-wave antenna design: techniques and measurement
- Multiple antennas for advanced millimeter-wave transceivers
- Massive MIMO for millimeter-wave systems
- Multiband antenna operation in millimeter-wave communications
- Reconfigurable antennas in millimeter-wave devices
- Integrated millimeter-wave antennas
- Antennas for on-body millimeter-wave applications
- Antennas for advanced millimeter-wave operational scenarios (e.g., device-to-device communications, spectrum cognition, and transportation)
- Use of novel materials for millimeter-wave antenna design
