Recent Advances in Valorization Methods of Inorganic/Organic Solid, Liquid, and Gas Wastes

Description

The main goal of this special issue is to gather contributions dealing with the latest breakthrough methods for providing value compounds and energy/fuel from waste valorization. Valorization is a relatively new approach in the domain of industrial wastes management, a key issue to promote sustainable development. In this field, the recovery of value-added substances, such as antioxidants, proteins, vitamins, and so forth, from the processing of agroindustrial by-products, are worth mentioning. Another important valorization approach is the use of biogas from waste treatment plants for the production of energy. Several approaches involving physical and chemical processes and thermal and biological processes that ensure reduced emissions and energy consumptions will be considered. Potential topics include, but are not limited to:

  • Management of solid wastes
  • Production of energy from biomass wastes
  • Recovery of value-added compounds from processing of agroindustrial by-products
  • Biogas treating and usage as an energy source
  • Recycling and water reuse
  • Clean technologies for recovery of noble metals
  • Preparation and characterization of adsorbent materials
  • Legal, social, and economic aspects
  • Life cycle assessment

Before submission authors should carefully read over the journal's Author Guidelines, which are located at http://www.hindawi.com/journals/ijce/guidelines/. Prospective authors should submit an electronic copy of their complete manuscript through the journal Manuscript Tracking System at http://mts.hindawi.com/ according to the following timetable:
