Sustainable Composite Materials for Sustainable Environments
Description
Burgeoning population and advancements in technology have created the demand for many of the speciality products, and the manufacture of speciality products usually ends up with environmental degradation. Many inorganic elements are greatly employed in several manufacturing processes which results in these elements turning into potential threats to the environment over a period of time.
Composite materials are one among the growing fields of investigation due to their chemical and corrosion resistance and flexibility in design. They also exhibit maximum performance at elevated temperatures and durability. Their unique properties have attracted many applications especially in materials engineering. Green composites are highly attractive and next-generation sustainable materials that are eco-friendly and biodegradable. Natural fibres, resins, and oils are embedded in the synthesis of green composite materials that lead to sustainable environments compared to conventional composite materials. Green composite materials are finding their way in aerospace, automobile parts, electronic circuits, and environmental domains due to their lightweight and superior strength. These materials are highly effective in corrosive environments due to their greater corrosion resistance.
The aim of the Special Issue is to bring out original research and review articles on the composite materials and their applications. This Special Issue will highlight the tailored green composite materials for their specific applications.
Potential topics include but are not limited to the following:
- Synthesis, fabrication, and characterization of green composite materials
- Tailoring and surface modification of composite materials and their applications
- Corrosion investigation of green composite materials
- Composites for pesticide remediation
- Sustainable composite materials and their toxicity analysis
- Green composite materials in circuit board design
- Process optimization of synthesis of green composite materials
