SGLT1-mediated glucose uptake in small intestinal segments of rats on HFD with STZ-induced diabetes after sham operation (open columns) or IIP surgery (closed columns). Sham operation or IIP was performed in the 13th week of life and the ex vivo uptake measurements were performed in the 18th week of life. Uptake of 10 μM [¹⁴C]AMG inhibited by 200 μM phlorizin was measured in everted small intestinal segments obtained from the regions indicated in Figure 1(a).
