AGEs trigger signaling via their receptor RAGE. Cells were pretreated with RAGE siRNA or anti-RAGE antibody followed by treatment with BSA-AGEs (50 μg/ml) for 24 hours. Both siRNA and anti-RAGE inhibited the effects of AGEs on the levels of MDM2, Rb, and p53. (b–e) The bands of p53 (b), Rb (c), p-Rb (d), and MDM2 (e) in Figure 3(a) were quantified using ImageJ.
